Blogging Against Abuse

Photo taken from htttp://spca.org.my

Do you all remember Sheena, the German Shepherd dog? She was a beautiful puppy, but her hope & happiness were dashed at the hand of her cruel owner. As seen in the photo above, her ribs were sticking out and stomach bloated, sitting by her rusty bowl of contaminated water. Her owner had kept her tied up & starving.

A neighbour called the SPCA and Sheena was rescued but it was too late. She had to be put down on August 18, 2005. The post-mortem revealed that she had suffered neglect for years - infected with ticks, suffered brittle bones due to malnutrition from young and the malfunction of all her major organs causing water retention which resulted in a bloated abdomen, empty bladder and stomach.

On another case which happened around December 2006, a stray dog was rescued from the cruelty of indonesion workers whom had nicknamed the dog "haram" (illegal). He was cruelly beaten that his jaw was crushed. It was just gruesome, like the act of barbarians. I can't imagine anyone with a normal mentality would do such thing. Click here to read the article & view the photos. I cried at the sight of this helpless dog. :`(

Please stop all these abuses!! Animals need our love & attention!! If you don't like animals, don't buy or touch them. Just leave them alone!

Where Are You, My Sister?

----Start Of Article-----

Please spare some time to read this post that we have written on behalf of a good friend of ours in the blogosphere. By reading this post and spreading the word to the others around you, you could reunite two people who shared an extraordinary relationship. You could be the one to reunite two sisters.

Her name is Jackie Hooper, also known as Shinade. Her biological mother was Maxine Soape, but a couple had adopted her. According to her, besides her mother, she also had a younger sister as a family member. Just like her, her sister, who was born in 1959 or 1960 and is three years younger than her, had also been adopted out to another couple, by her own paternal uncle.

Both were born in the same hometown of East Texas, but are now being adopted by two different couples and have been separated since then. The sister is currently staying with her adopted parents in Pueblo, Colorado.

Jackie has never stood a chance to watch her younger sister grow, and has never even known what her sister’s name is.

As painful as it is to be worlds apart from your friends, it is even more painful to be worlds apart from your own flesh and blood. So readers, we hope that you can show some sense of empathy towards Jackie ‘Shinade’ Hooper who longs to rebuild her life with her younger sister whom she holds very dear in her heart throughout the years.

This is your chance to do something good for someone in our global society who is in need of our helping hands.

If you can provide any information about Jackie’s sister that would be able to assist Jackie in her search, we urge you to keep us in the loop or directly inform Jackie at her blog. Your liberality towards helping out in this search would be greatly appreciated by all of us here, but the one who would be most thankful to you is Jackie herself.

A little kindness goes a long way. Readers, please show your compassion towards someone who wants nothing else but to reunite with her beloved younger sister once again. They share a strong kinship, and they deserve to be together till the end of time.

Please read this special message from our friend, Jackie, and start doing your part in finding her long lost sister.

My only message would be that I would so like to have the opportunity to get to know her and her family. I know she has children also. And, that I love her even though I don't know who she is or where she is.” – Jackie ‘Shinade’ Hooper

Homemade Chee Cheong Fun

Sounds interesting, right? It's easy to cook, and anyone with microwave knowledge can cook this. It's actually my future FIL's recipe. He passed it to me. I've tried and it's yummy. Of coz, if there is sweet sauce and fried shallots, it's even better. Anyway, I tried this with curry chicken and it's not bad.

Homemade Chee Cheong Fun

Ingredients:
1 cup rice flour
1 tbsp corn flour
2 1/4 cups water
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp oil
Spring Onions
Dried Shrimp

1. Mix rice flour, corn flour, water and salt together.

2. Grease a thin layer of cooked oil on a microwaveable plastic container with square or rectangle flat bottom.

3. Cover the bottom with thin layer of flour mixture. Sprinkle spring onions and dried shrimp. Microwave for 2 minutes on "High".

4. By using a knife or fork, peel off the side first. Then slowly roll it as u peel, using the knife/ fork. Serve hot.

Didn't I tell you it's easy? :) Can be eaten with any sauce you wanted: Curry, Sweet Sauce, Rendang or Bolognese sauce.

God Always Send Rainbows After Rains

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
there will always be sunshine,
after the rain ....

Perhaps you may stumble,
perhaps even fall,
But God's always ready,
To answer your call ...

He knows every heartache,
sees every tear,
A word from His lips,
can calm every fear ...

Your sorrows may linger,
throughout the night,
But suddenly vanish,
in dawn's early light ...

The Savior is waiting,
somewhere above,
To give you His grace,
and send you His love...

Whatever your cross,
whatever your pain,
"God always sends rainbows ....
after the rain ... "

To get out of difficulty, one must usually go through it!

Disclaimer: The above graphics and message were taken from a forwarded mail. Does not belong to me. For sharing purposes only.

As things got rough last week for Janice, i turned to God for help. I have also wrote an email to CWO Prayer Team for prayers. I was eagerly waiting for their email the whole week but there's no reply from them.

And then moment ago, i visited the Prayer Room. To my surprise, they already had my prayer request posted up, and it was on last wednesday. "How silly I am to check my email instead of here?"

I was shock and touched at the same time. There are two wonderful ladies praying for Janice's brother. It really warmth my heart to see that God's Love overflowing from these ladies. I am so thankful for their prayers and to have found this Prayer Room. Thank you, Pia & Judith! And Thank you, Darlene! (For your info, Darlene is the founder and editor of CWO magazine. Her blog: God, Four Kids...) Most of all, Thank you, Lord Jesus! :)

"Jan, i hope that you're handling & coping well in this chapter of your life. My prayers & thoughts are always with you. Lots of LOVE & HUGZ to you and Amos & Zac. :)"
